Half Marathon Road Race
(licence number - 2016 - applied for)
Sunday 12th June 2016
Requested by popular demand the Puddletown Plod has now increased slightly in length from a 20k to a Half Marathon, taking in much of the previous course.
The top three in the men's 2015 (20k) race were as follows, with an emphatic victory to Steve Way of Bournemouth AC:
|2||1:11:12||Daniel||Middleton||Norwich Road Runners|
In the women's competition, the top three finishers were headed by Hayley Merifield, representing Poole AC. Well done, Hayley.
|30||1:34:07||Fiona||Lynskey||New Forest Runners|
In the team competition it was a victory for the women of Lytchett Manor Striders, with Egdon Heath Harriers took the plaudits in the men's section.

Welcome to the website of the Puddletown Plod Half Marathon Road Race.
Please note that your entry will be acknowledged by e-mail, so numbers will need to be collected from the school sports hall on the day of the race
In 2016 we are delighted to be part of the Dorset Road Race League. A record 250 runners took part in an enjoyable race in 2013 (last time time we were included in the DRRL), with plenty of effort from all, whether running for a time, as part of a team, or to complete an achievable challenge.
The race is organised by a willing band of volunteers. This includes staff, parents and friends of the school.
We enjoy organising the race and welcome all runners, who have always been friendly ‘clients’ in the race. Any funds made in the 2016 race will go towards funding items for the children of the school. Course details, along with entry details are available on this website.
The proceeds from 2013 - 2015 have enabled us to partially refurbish the school library. We have purchased sofas, enhanced the range of non-fiction books on offer and the library has been re-painted to make it a more welcoming area. In 2016 the monies raised for the school will go towards rejuvenating the school swimming pool.
The race brings the community of runners to the school, raises money and promotes sport.
The running family is full of some great people and we would like to extend a very warm welcome to as many of you as possible on 12th June 2016.
